Black Jack Geary is back at it, rushing head on back into the syndic fleet he just ran away from. He of course wins and kicks some booty in the process. He's pretty compasionate in this one, saving people on a dying planet and dropping them off on a syndic world. Aliens are becoming more widely known - suspect that they may have put the sydicate and the alliance against one another. Some talk with captured syndics indicates they may play along with the alliance to end the war... maybe even go after aliens later.
Desjani and Geary are in love, Rione is ousted, still around and frustrating - but hopefully relegated to the back seat. Internal dissention, people trying to sabatoge the fleet - or kill Geary. Defintely recommend the series. Very fast read, fun book. Would read again.
